General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Gentamicin Sulfate liquid injections.

Gentamicin sulphate is effective for blood poisoning, uropoiesis reproductive system infection, respiratory tract infection; alimentary infection (include peritonitis), infection of the biliary tract, mastitis, and skin, parenchyma infection.

It is important to note that AdvaCare’s gentamicin sulphate liquid injection is for veterinary purposes only, and altho’ there are similar medications available for human use, you should only use the medications prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of gentamicin sulfate liquid injection. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.

Frequent use of Gentamicin will cause vestibular function damage, reversible renal toxicity, and occasional anaphylactic reaction.

Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist before using gentamicin sulfate liquid injection.

If the condition does not improve or becomes worse, then call a veterinary physician or animal care specialist.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or a worsening of the problem. Usual dosage is as follows:

  • INTRAMUSCULAR:

(a) Dogs and Cats: 4.4mg/kg (2mg/lb) body weight twice the first day: 4.4mg/kg (2mg/lb) body weight once a day thereafter.

(b) Piglets: Each 1-3 day old piglet should be injected aseptically once intramuscularly with 5mg of Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution. To prepare 50ml of 5mg/ml solution, dilute 2.5ml of Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution 100mg/ml with 47.5ml of a sterile physiological saline solution. Inject 1ml per piglet.

  • SUBCUTANEOUS:

(a) Dogs and Cats: 4.4mg/kg (2mg/lb) body weight twice the first day: 4.4mg/kg (2mg/lb) body weight once a day thereafter. Average duration of treatment in clinical studies was five to seven days.

(b) Turkey Poults: Each turkey poult should be injected aseptically once subcutaneously in the neck with 1mg of Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution. To prepare 50mL of 5mg/ml solution, dilute 2.5ml of Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution 100mg/ml with 47.5ml of a sterile physiological saline solution. Inject 0.2ml per turkey poult.

(c) Chicks: Each one-day-old chick should be injected aseptically once subcutaneously in the neck with Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution diluted with a sterile physiological saline solution to provide 0.2mg gentamicin in a 0.2ml dose. This concentration can be provided by diluting Gentamicin sulphate injectable solution as follows.

Consult with an animal care specialist about any other medications that are being taken by the animal, and their medical history, before their treatment with gentamicin sulphate liquid injection.
