Product Information

General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Prazinquatel liquid injections.

Praziquantel injection is absorbed, metabolized in the liver and excreted via the bile into the digestive tract where its cestocidal activity is exerted. Tapeworm loses its ability to resist digestion by the mammalian host when exposed to praziquantel. Because of this, whole tapeworms, including the scolex, are very rarely passed after administration of praziquantel. It is common to see only disintegrated and partially digested pieces of tapeworms in the stool. The majority of tapeworms killed are digested and are not found in the feces.

It is important to note that AdvaCare’s praziquantel is for veterinary purposes only, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine some unwanted effects can occur from the use of praziquantel. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.

Side effects may include:

Brief pain following injections to dogs weighing over 50lbs. Mild vomiting and/or drowsy or staggering gait. Diarrhea, weakness, vomiting, salivation, sleepiness, burning on injection and/or a temporary lack of appetite in cats. Local irritation or swelling at the site of subcutaneous injections have been reported for cats.

For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult a veterinary physician.

If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please seek veterinary medical treatment immediately.
