General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Naproxen tablets.

Naproxen is in a group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Naproxen is used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Naproxen is also used to relieve shoulder pain caused by bursitis, tendinitis, gouty arthritis, and pain from other causes, including menstrual pain.

Naproxen is a treatment to reduce fever and to relieve mild pain from headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, menstrual periods, the common cold, toothaches, and backaches. Store Naproxen in a light-resistant container and avoid heat above 40 degrees C.

Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of naproxen. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use.

Common side effects include, but may not be limited to headaches, itching skin. Mild side effects may go away within a few days or a couple of weeks.

Seek medical attention if the following develop:

  • Belching;
  • Bruising;
  • Difficult breathing;
  • Pain in the chest;
  • Skin eruptions;
  • Swelling.

If you have taken or are considering taking naproxen after week 30 of pregnancy, it’s very important to consult your doctor and let your doctor know.

Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Usual dose for adults is:
Immediate release tablets and suspension: 250mg to 500mg orally twice a day.
Controlled release: 750mg to 1000mg orally once a day.
Delayed release: 375mg to 500mg orally twice a day.
Elderly patients may require lower doses due to the increase risk of adverse effects.
Usual dose for children is: safety and efficiency have not been established in patients younger than 18 years. There are 55 major drugs that are known to interact with naproxen. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with naproxen.
