Product Information

General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Glibenclamide tablets.

Glibenclamide is an antidiabetic drug. It is part of a class of medications known as sulfonylureas, which are closely related to sulfonamide antibiotics. It is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Glibenclamide is a hypoglycaemic agent used to treat non-insulin dependent diabetes to lower blood sugar levels. Glibenclamide tablets help patients who don’t respond adequately to dietary measures alone.

Glibenclamide works by binding to ATP-sensitive potassium channels’ inhibitory subunit sulfonylurea receptor 1 in the pancreatic beta cells. This causes cell membrane depolarization and opens voltage-dependent calcium channels, causing an increase of calcium in the beta cells and stimulating insulin release.
