Use of chloramphenicol tablets during pregnancy has little evidence. However, Chloramphenicol enters breast milk, so it should not be used in nursing mothers. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking chloramphenicol tablets.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is: 50 to 100mg every 6 hours. Usual does for children is: 50mg every 6 hours; may increase to 100mg in severe illness.
