Betamethasone is a corticosteroid, it has a strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive action and it works modifying the body’s immune response.

Chlorphenamine maleate is an antihistaminic commonly used to treat sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose caused by allergies or the common cold.

The combination of these two compounds makes a synergy of the two effects: it helps to treat the respiratory, dermatologic and ocular allergies, decreasing the inflammation. It is effective also in case of hay fever (pollinosis), bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, non-granulomatous iritis. Betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate tablets are especially indicated for the control the inflammatory aspects of ocular diseases because they help to maintain the functional integrity of the eye while treating the specific infection.

Do NOT use betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate tablets:

Strict supervision of the Physician is mandatory before taking betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate during pregnancy or breast feeding.

Dosage:

  • Adults /children over 12 years old: 1 to 2 tablets four times daily, after meals and at bedtime;
  • Children 6 -12 Years: the recommended dosage is ½ tablet three times a day.
