Driving or operating machinery is okay because cimetidine tablet are unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
Do NOT use cimetidine tablet if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in cimetidine tablet.
Use of cimetidine tablet during pregnancy or breast feeding is fine and it has been used safely during pregnancy to treat peptic ulcer disease. Please consult your doctor or health care professional before taking cimetidine tablet just to make sure that the benefits outweighs risks.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Usual dose for adults is:
- For duodenal or benign gastric ulceration: a single daily dose of 800mg at bedtime;
- For benign peptic ulcer disease: 400mg at bedtime;
- For oesophageal reflux disease: 400mg four times a day, with meals and at bedtime, for four to eight weeks.
Usual does for children is:
Over one year old: 25-30mg/kg body weight per day in divided doses.
Usual does for infants is:
20mg/kg body weight per day in divided doses.
