Driving or operating machinery is okay, as it does not cause any problem affecting the ability to drive. Please consult with your doctor for recommendations specific to your body.
Do NOT use sulphadimidine if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the tablet.
There is little evidence with regards to the use of sulfadimidine during pregnancy or breast feeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking sulfadimidine.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Usual dose for adults is:
If tonsillitis: 1g twice a day for a week
If sinusitis: 1g per day for a duration of 1-1.5 week
If pneumonia and wound infections: 5g per day for a duration of 1-1.5 week
Usual does for children is:
If tonsillitis and for children older than 3 years old: 0.05-0.075g per kg of body weight
If Sinusitis: 0.1-0.15g per kg of body weight per day
If pneumonia and wound infections: 0.1g per kg of body weight per day
Medicine and salt interactions may increase or decrease the activity of sulfadimidine. It may interact with the following medicines:
