Indications and Usage
It is indicated in the treatment of infections of lower respiratory tract including: pneumonia, urinary tract, skin and skin structures, bone and joints.
In the treatment of bacteremia/septicemia, CNS infections, intra-abdominal infections including peritonitis, gynecological infections including pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis and pelvic cellulitis caused by susceptible strains of specific microorganisms; perioperative prophylaxis.
Do not take cefotaxime sodium powder for injections if:
- You are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients;
- You have hypersensitivity towards lidocaine or other local anasthetics of amide type;
- Infants are aged less than 3 months of age;
- You have a medical history of severe heart failure.
