Indications and Usage
Azelastine HCL + fluticasone propionate nasal spray is used to relieve seasonal allergy symptoms of the nose such as stuffy/runny nose, itching, sneezing, and post-nasal drip.
Azelastine HCL + fluticasone propionate nasal spray is for nasal use only.
Do not take azelastine HCL + fluticasone propionate nasal spray if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients;
- You have a adrenal insufficiency;
- You have serious eye problems or cataract.
It is unknown if azelastine HCL + fluticasone propionate nasal spray is excreted in breast milk. Consult your doctor or health care professional before inhaling the nasal spray in pregnant or nursing mothers.
Administration and Dosage
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. The recommended dose to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis is 1 spray in each nostril twice daily.
Consult with your doctor about medications you are taking or existing medical conditions you have before your treatment with azelastine HCL + fluticasone propionate nasal spray.
Fluticasone propionate is metabolized or broken down by the CYP3A4 enzymes in the liver. Strong inhibitors of CYP3A4 enzymes such as ritonavir, ketoconazole, fluconazole, and itraconazole may increase its blood levels and increase the risk of side effects. This spray should not be used with ritonavir or medicines containing ritonavir.
Symptoms of overdose include drowsiness or sleepiness. These symptoms have to be reported to the medical health professional.
