Tetracycline HCL Eye Ointments are a broad-spectrum polyketide antibiotic produced by the streptomyces genus of actinobacteria, indicated for use against many bacterial infections. It is a protein synthesis inhibitor. Tetracycline stops the growth of certain bacteria that cause eye infections. They may also be used along with other medicines that are taken by mouth for infections of the eye.
