Aciclovir eye drops are antivirals that treat eye infections caused by the Herpes simplex virus by stopping the growth of the virus on the cornea.

Common side effects include, but may not be limited to, irritation, feeling as though there is something in the eye, mild stinging, swollen, runny eyes, and in rare cases, swollen eyelids. Seek medical attention if the following develop: allergic reaction to signs including rash, itching, hives, swelling, shortness of breath, unexplained fever, or feeling faint.
