Product Information

General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Nikethamide injections.

Nikethamide is a respiratory stimulant used to treat respiratory depression due to chronic bronchitis. Nikethamide can also be used to treat overdoses of tranquilizers, sedatives, and barbiturates before endotracheal intubation and lung expansion. It is also commonly used as central stimulants and to treat hypotensive disorders.

Nikethamide is also known as nicotinic acid diethylamide and its actions are similar to doxapram. Though, the respiratory stimulant dose is lower than the convulsant dose in conscious human individuals. In South America and Europe, it is commonly available in lozenge form as a short-acting over-the-counter drug to increase endurance in high altitudes. It also directly affects the heart by promoting the coronary flow in myocardial infection.

Nikethamide works by acting directly on the brain’s respiratory centers. It is given as an injection into the vein by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic setting. Each mL of solution contains 250 mg of nikethamide.
