Driving or operating machinery is okay as it does not cause dizziness or drowsiness.
Do NOT use nikethamide if:
- You are allergic to nikethamide or other containing ingredients;
- You have porphyria;
- You have hypertension, cardiovascular disease, or epilepsy.
There is little evidence with regards to the use of nikethamide during pregnancy or breast feeding, so consult your doctor or health care professional before administering nikethamide.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is: 1 to 1.5g IV as needed.
Nikethamide should be used with caution as it can be toxic in higher doses. It has been associated with acute porphyria attacks and should not be used in patients with porphyria. It has possible interactions with other drugs, medications, and supplements. This medication should be used with caution when using other stimulants or depressants. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking any medical conditions you have before a treatment with nikethamide.
