Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking ringer lactate infusions.
If your condition does not improve or becomes worse, then call your doctor.
Do NOT use ringer lactate infusions if:
- You have kidney failure, because it contains potassium and may lead to hyperkalemia, or high potassium levels;
- You are hypersensitive and have allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and anaphylactic reactions;
- You have liver disease;
- People with lactic acidosis or alkalosis should also not be given lactated ringers, which can change the electrolyte balance in the body.
Over dosage, application frequency, and treatment duration of ringer lactate infusions should not be exceeded.
Patients with congestive heart failure and edema due to sodium overload should also not receive lactated ringer’s, which may increase edema.
Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with ringer lactate infusions.
