Do NOT use cefadroxil capsule if:
- You are allergic to any ingredient in cefadroxil capsule or any other cephalosporin.
Use of cefadroxil capsule during pregnancy or breastfeeding is expected not to cause adverse effects. There is little evidence with regards to the use of cefadroxil capsule during pregnancy or breastfeeding and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking cefadroxil capsule. Only use during pregnancy and lactation if clearly needed.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. The usual dose for adults is: 2g per day for the urinary tract infections and 1g for skin and skin structure infections. The usual dose for children is: 30mg per day in divided dose every 12 hours.
Some medicines can interact with cefadroxil. However, no specific interactions with cefadroxil are known at this time. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with cefadroxil capsule.
