Do NOT use ampicillin + cloxacillin if:
- You are allergic to ampicillin or cloxacillin.
Use of ampicillin and cloxacillin during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be avoided. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking ampicillin + cloxacillin.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. The usual dose for adults is: 250-500mg ampicillin and 250-500mg cloxacillin every 6 hours. The usual dose for children is: ampicillin 125mg and cloxacillin 125mg, 4 times daily.
Ampicillin + cloxacillin might interact with medicine such as: allopurinol, antacids, chloroquine, oral contraceptives, probenecid, tetracycline, warfarin, and phenytoin. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with ampicillin + cloxacillin.
