Rifampicin capsules eliminate bacteria that cause tuberculosis (TB) or Neisseria meningitidis (a bacteria) and to prevent you from giving these infections to others.

Rifampicin capsules are also used to treat leprosy and have a role in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in combination with fusidic acid.
Additionally, this medication is also used to treat listeria species, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae and Legionella pneumophila.
