Do NOT use zoledronic acid powder for injection if:
- You have any kidney disease or take medicine that can be harmful for the kidney.
- You are pregnant.
- You are dehydrated.
Use of zoledronic acid during pregnancy or breast feeding is not recommended, because it can harm the unborn baby. Consult your doctor or health care professional before having zoledronic acid powder.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults depends on the disease, but the injection might take 15 minutes to complete.
Interaction with other drugs which are also harmful for the kidneys is not recommended, these include: chemotherapy drugs, antiviral medication, pain or arthritis medicine, injected antibiotics, or medicine to treat a bowel disorder or prevent organ transplant rejection. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with zoledronic acid powder for injection.
