General Information:
Ifosfamide is a nitrogen mustard alkylating agent used in the treatment of cancer. It is in a class of drugs known as alkylating agents and works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells in the body. Ifosfamide powder for injection used in combination with certain other antineoplastic drugs is indicated for third-line chemotherapy of germ cell testicular cancer. Ifosfamide itself can also be given as a treatment for various other cancers including breast cancer, lymphoma, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, osteogenic sarcoma, soft tissue sarcoma, and bone cancer.

Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of ifosfamide powder for injection. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to fatigue, alopecia, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, anemia. Seek medical attention if the following develop: dermatitis, stomatitis, cardiotoxicity.

Do NOT use ifosfamide powder for injection if:

  • You suffer from any cardiac disease.
  • You suffer from peripheral neuropathy.
  • You suffer from anorexia.

There is little evidence with regards to the use of ifosfamide during pregnancy or breast feeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking ifosfamide powder.

Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is 1 g single dose.
