Product Information

General Information:
Paclitaxel injection can be used to treat various types of cancer, and this is dependent on what it is manufactured with. It is important to note that for this reason, the injection cannot be interchanged with other types. One is manufactured with human albumin and is used to treat breast cancer which is either not improving or has relapsed. If it’s with polyoxyethylated castor oil then it’s used to treat ovarian cancer, as well as breast cancer and lung cancer, but can also be used to treat Kaposi’s Sarcoma in people with AIDS.

Its uses do not end there, as it can also be used as an antimicrotubule, which essentially blocks cell growth, and so can stop the spread of cancer cells. It can also be used to treat head and neck cancer, esophagus cancer, bladder endometrium cancer, and cervical cancer.

The injection can only be administered under the supervision of a doctor or health care professional, with experience in oncology care. During treatment, one should keep all their appointments, and get all required tests done on time. It should be noted that there are also some dietary instructions, and there is a higher chance of infection with use, so again consult your doctor before starting treatment.

Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of paclitaxel. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to diarrhea, hair loss, muscle and joints pain, nausea, vomiting. Call your doctor immediately if you develop a temperature over 100.4oF (38oC), or chest pains, cough, chills, painful urination, pale skin, peeling or hardening of a skin sore throat, unusual bruising or bleeding, or any other symptom related to infections.

For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult your doctor.

If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please call your doctor immediately.
