Do NOT use chloroquine phosphate if:
- You are allergic to the active ingredient of the oral suspension.
- You have vision problems or retinal changes.
- You are taking arsenic, astemizole, terfenadine, cimetidine, cisapride, quinacrine, or dofetilide.
Use of chloroquine phosphate during pregnancy or breast feeding is to be avoided. Consult your doctor or health care professional before having chloroquine phosphate.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Possible interactions with this medicine may occur if: you are taking Cimetidine or quinacrine (increasing of the chloroquine side effects); you are taking ampicillin, rabies vaccine, or thyroid hormones (decreasing of the effectiveness of these medicines); you are taking cyclosporine (because its side effects may be increased). Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with chloroquine phosphate oral suspension.
