Benzyl penicillin powder for injection is used to treat mild to moderate upper respiratory tract infections, venereal diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis), and prophylaxis of rheumatic fever or chorea caused by penicillin Gâ€“sensitive microorganisms that are susceptible to the low and very prolonged serum levels common to this dosage form.
It is also a treatment for aspiration pneumonia, bacterial endocarditis, cellulitis, meningitis, and septic arthritis.
