It is also indicated for nausea and vomiting due to acute or chronic medical illness or acute gastroenteritis. It may be used alone or with other medications.

Granisetron is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. The active ingredient blocks serotonin from binding to certain nerves, which may reduce nausea and vomiting.

The usual dose for adults is 2mg once daily or 1mg twice daily.
